I'll start by catching you up on the last couple of months:
In September, we went to NJ to visit my family. My siblings were excited to meet their new niece and 5-year-old Uncle Bed did a particularly good job holding Moriah all by himself. At some point during the visit she learned to sit up. We're not sure quite when, or for how long she'd been able to do it cause she was constantly in someone's doting arms.

Engaging in one of her favorite pass times with my cousin Joy: Pulling hair.
All the babies: My cousins Faith and Hannah's babies, Isaiah and Jonah.
At six months, she got her first two teeth. We had heard the teething terror stories and were kind of dreading it, but she was extremely brave and some days you'd never even know she was cutting a tooth!
Moriah just started getting interested in books. She'll sit through the whole thing and point to the pictures.
The "kitchen" I set up in the bathroom. Don't worry, I kept things very sanitary.
Moving on...so the day we got back to BC, we moved into our new basement suite. It was unfinished, meaning REALLY unfinished. Like, no floor (hard concrete) and no kitchen, but at least we had a bathroom. Before our trip we had moved our furniture and stuff in and paid half rent to store it there. We agreed to take the place, knowing that for about three weeks we'd have to deal with workers coming in every day, and cooking on a hot plate.

Daniel laying our floors. And yes, when he noticed I was taking a picture he flexed his triceps.
Because of our time crunch, the decision was kind of rushed, and I'm not sure we really worked it out in our minds how coming home to concrete floors and no kitchen after - a plane ride, a long drive, and a cranky jetlagged baby would really feel. Happily, we survived the next few weeks eating whatever we could find along the way (or that I managed to whip up using a hotplate or crock pot) amidst the flying dust and the endless sounds of drilling/hammering. Yes, many times we looked at eachother and wondered why in the world did we do this, but thankfully now our place is looking good with only a few minor decorating touches, and lighting fixtures still needed.
We went to a friend's wedding recently
All dressed up!
Since turning 8 months old the begining of the month, Moriah is developing faster than ever it seems. Recently it's been anywhere from strange new surprises in her diapers, to pulling herself up to things on her knees (like the coffee table) and crawling at breakneck speed. She can't be left alone for more than a couple seconds which usually means I put makeup on half of one of my eyes at a time, and then rush out to peak at her.
She REALLY likes her highchair
The other day we took her in to the Pediatrician for a routine exam and found out that she's 19 lbs and 28" long. That is the size of the average 1-year old....wow! I'm not sure how we've bred such a large child from a starting weight of 7 1/2 lbs, but she's healthy and happy which is what really matters. I'm still nursing her, and she eats small amounts of oatmeal and bananas and carrots and squash and such about twice a day.
I just started her on "finger food" with things like bits of soft fruit or veggies, bits of chicken, and whole wheat bread.
She seems to be catching on quite fast with her "chopsticks" as Daniel likes to call her method of getting the food from the table to her mouth with her index finger and thumb.
This has also been happening....I think it's hereditary from Daddy's side. :)
Well....I think that's about it for now. Hope you enjoy the pictures and I will try to keep this thing more updated!
